Can we end abortion? Will it ever end? What else can we possibly do? When will God stop it already? These are all questions we ask ourselves. We all wonder when and how far will it get before it actually ends. The real question we should be asking is, have we been acting like true soldiers of Christ to try to stop it in the right way with the right attitude and mindset? Think about it for a few moments. Attending the March for Life at our national capitol in DC for two years, I came across many different looks and opinions of abortion and different ways people feel they should protest to hopefully stop it. First, Yes, a baby is a real human, alive like any of us walking the earth are, from the very first moment of conception. There is proof anywhere you truly look. You don't see a dead plant grow do you? Thus a baby is live creature of God and truly living from Day 1. But some protesting ways are just wrong and don't work.
First of all Abortion itself, does not just hurt and kill the living child inside the womb but also it affects the women who go through the abortion process, not just physically but even more so mentally. Not only these women but also the people involved in making each abortion happen. They regret it afterward whether they admit it or not. Whether it was their decision or not. Deep inside it kills them. Let's do the right thing and not judge their choices in life, but help them with faith, hope, charity, and love. Have Faith God will lead them into the right direction. Have Hope that they will have a change of heart or try the best they could not pick this option. Be Charitable by supporting and help them into making the right decision, in nice ways, with a positive attitude, tell them of all the great and better options they have out there be their friends. Most importantly Love them like God loves you. We are all children of God, and He forgives even the worst sinners. Remember that. "Love the sinner but hate the sin" should always be our motto.
Witnessing the different crowds at the March, I noticed people express their thoughts and emotions of abortion in different ways. Yes it's sad, Yes it's depressing that so many of God's children will never see the world he created for us because of people's actions, and Yes we should be emotionally sad, but should we show it all the time? Well some would say yes. But No. We shouldn't. Why not? Before you start going against me here, think of it this way. Example: What do most people do when they win a card game or any game and see the loosing person sitting there pouting or sad because they lost? The winner say's "I win. Better Luck next time buddy!" A lot of the time the winner forgets about the looser and is just glad he won in the end. That is a form of Pride. Same goes with any evil thing that happens in this world. Life is truly a war between us and the Devil (aka Satan). He laughs when good is defeated by evil. He laughs when he sees us mourning because of our lose. He hates everything God created. Especially the human body being so special it is (since we are made to the image and likeness of God). Don't let him laugh. Now are you thinking "why won't God just come in and save the day? Good always overcomes evil in the end right?" Well, truth is we are being tested, on whether we will stay on the good side and fight until the very end no matter how hard it may get or how many sacrifices we encounter, or give up and join the dark side whether they have cookies or not (those may look like chocolate chips are just poison waiting to happen). What's looking good now?
I know you are probably thinking "wow she can blab for hours but how can we actually win this battle?" Here is what we can try to do. Ready for this? Yes, it's something I already mentioned before. BE POSITIVE! keep a positive attitude at all times, be loving, and charitable no matter how hard it may get. All of these are a must. I really think if we all have a positive attitude (especially at the March and confronting those with hardened hearts ) we can end this thing. Maybe try, instead of mourning and "scaring" others with graphic pictures even though it's proof of abortion and how it does kill. Let's prove babies are humans and are alive from Conception and try helping others see the beauty, and show how much we love babies (and mommies) ..How? We can have signs that motivate and help others to choose life who are either being forced into having an adoption or are doing it because of fear (some are just not raised properly to know between right and wrong) ! Some examples being "Adoption is an option"; "We pray you make the RIGHT choice" "Please don't choose evil" "Babies have hearts too!" the ideas are endless! ONE idea I really love and pray happens is that at the Next March for Life (especially the one in Washington DC) is to get a really HUGE group to all say the rosary at the same time, all in unity. (*nudge nudge* Chicago group etc.) How beautiful would that be? We won't be like any other protesters out there, we would be unique. We can also then prove again in history that the rosary is the best weapon against evil! We CAN end abortion. Let's show God we are determined!
Remember too that God doesn't just throw us into the world and wishes us "good luck". He is sitting there at the side lines being our coach/teacher all through life, offering and giving us instruments to help us each with different needs. Like in sports, the coach gives the players advice to make the game easier. Such as water, breaks to catch breath, towels for our sweat, team mates to support us and work with us to help the team 'win the gold'; or like a teacher who gives us assignments that we must finish, get graded on, and we either achieve and move on or fail, and be 'punished'. God gives us advice and instructions but we need to listen. He gives to each of us our special needs. No two people are exactly same. He also gives us plants and animals for food, natural materials to build shelters, Parents, Siblings, Friends, Superiors, even random strangers to help one another and to support each other (we can't physically hug God....I wish!) . He sends each challenges to test us. Test whether we would just give up the Battle or be a brave soldier and fight until he chooses the end.
